First of all, make sure that you have enabled the Bluetooth on your phone. Also read the written instructions and the instructional video for linking the Bluetooth Alarm button to the X-Guard Alarm app.

How do I enable man-down in the Alarm app?

How do I enable man-down in the Alarm app?

Via the Risk button on the home screen. When your own security is set to “Risk”, the app activates the motion sensor of the mobile phone. This acts as a kind of pedometer. If there has been insufficient movement for two minutes (this time period can be adjusted), the app automatically creates a pre-alarm for 30 seconds. A message will appear on the screen and the device will vibrate and beep. The pre-alarm is canceled by moving the device briefly. If the pre-alarm is not canceled in time, an alarm call is automatically sent.

FAQ
How do you determine my location?

We determine your location with great precision in various ways.

  • We look at your GPS location
  • We check the network location of the phone
  • We scan for Bluetooth and WiFi beacons that have been placed and measured by X-Guard
  • We use the agenda link you have set up
  • We use the addresses and automatic switches you set

This combination of techniques makes our location determination accurate. You can use X-Guard's location determination both indoors and outdoors with confidence.

Will help come immediately after pressing the emergency button?

You don't just create an alarm. If you do this, we will ensure that you receive assistance with the utmost care.

We do this in the following ways

  • We will call your colleagues and/or emergency response team
  • The colleagues and/or emergency response staff indicate whether they are coming to help
  • In parallel, it is automatically checked whether assistance from our emergency center is required
  • The control room scales up where necessary and uses the speaking-listening connection for verification of the alarm
  • The right help is sent immediately.
Do you use a control room?

We assure you of help, with every alarm. You can choose to report directly to a control room or first deploy your colleagues and/or emergency response team.

Our control rooms are available 24 hours a day to handle any alarms that cannot be resolved without the intervention of a control room.

How long does it take for someone to arrive on location?

Help is often closer than you think.

X-Guard relies on the power of your own network. When you raise an alarm, your colleague is often closer than a national emergency service. In many cases, rapid intervention from a colleague or trained emergency response officer is more desirable than escalation to a national emergency service, purely because they can arrive on the scene faster.

Depending on your situation, help can be with you within seconds.

Is there national security coverage?

Yes, X-Guard has a nationwide network of security guards. They are available 24 hours a day.

Of course, our security guards are only deployed when necessary. Your own colleagues and/or emergency response personnel are often closer than an emergency service or security guard. Our intelligent system automatically activates the right help.

Does X-Guard work abroad?

We can also do a lot for you worldwide! Our extensive network in the security world makes it possible to be properly protected abroad.

We are currently already securing Germany, Belgium, Ireland, France, Denmark en Norway.

Curious about the possibilities? Request a no-obligation consultation immediately.

Can I report to colleagues and/or emergency response? (emergency response call system)

Yes, you can use our 'Mutual Reporting' protocol to immediately contact your colleagues and/or emergency response team.

With Mutual Notification you can view, open and handle the alarm directly via the X-Guard Alarm app.

Is no one available? Our system then automatically escalates to a control room to ensure that you always receive help.

Can the man-down alarm switch automatically based on location?

Can the man-down alarm switch automatically based on location?

You can also determine and activate yourself where you need (extra) security. You can do this using the "Automatic switching" function in the Alarm app. By adding certain addresses to the app, you can indicate per address whether your “Own security” in the app should be ''Off'', ''On'' or 'Risk''. The moment you approach and leave the added address, the app will automatically switch to the correct mode.

What if no or insufficient emergency response officers have indicated that they will come to help?

In the event that insufficient emergency response personnel have indicated that they will come to help, two different backup scenarios can occur:

  • The emergency center is called. This person will then deploy a mobile invigilator or the police.
  • Or, the available emergency response personnel are called again, up to a maximum of three times.
Which emergency calls can emergency responders receive?

As a replacement for calling an internal emergency number, various types of emergency calls can be made in the X-Guard Alarm app. The calls are automatically forwarded to the emergency response team. It is important to know what types of emergency calls can be received:

  • Panic alarm: This alarm causes immediate panic.
  • Assistance alarm: In this alarm the detector does not trust the situation. However, there is no immediate panic.
  • Man-down (fall detection): with this alarm there is no movement (read more about our man-down function via the buttons at the bottom of this page)

FAQ
Is it a one-time purchase or subscription?

With X-Guard you do not pay for an alarm button, but for safety. It is only safe when you are sure that help will come.

X-Guard's services guarantee that you always receive this help.

Because we are not a hardware seller, you pay a subscription to us.

Can I put together my own subscription?

You purchase a bundle of hours from us. Within this bundle of hours you can make a number of choices:

  • How many people need to be protected for how many hours per week?
  • Would you like to use our control rooms?
  • Would you like to use our professional national security?

Our advisors are happy to help you answer these questions!

How do you determine the number of hours of security per month?

You enter the number of people you want to protect and you enter the number of hours per week that these people should be protected.

The following formula is used:

Persons × Hours per week × 52 weeks ÷ 12 months = estimated number of hours per month

The number of people I want to protect varies, what should I enter?

That is not a problem, because you pay us per hour, you can assume the average number of people you want to protect.

Example:
You protect 1 person for 40 hours per week (hour bundle of 174 hours per month)
of
You protect 2 people for 20 hours per week (hour bundle of 174 hours per month)

In both cases you end up with the same hour bundle and therefore the same price. With X-Guard you do not pay per person and you can connect unlimited users as long as you stay within the hour bundle.

How does an 'unlimited 24/7' bundle work?

With an 'unlimited 24/7' bundle, you indicate how many people you want to protect. You then pay a fixed amount per user. The price for the unlimited bundle is equivalent to 45 security hours per week.

You still enjoy our volume discounts with a higher number of users.

When do I choose a professional alarm center?

You choose a professional alarm center if you do not have your own security at your disposal. We then use a control room to ensure that you always receive help.

A control room can possibly deploy professional National Follow-up where necessary.

Why can't I select the National Follow-up?

You can only select the professional National Follow-up if you also use our emergency center / control room.

The operator verifies the alarm and initiates national follow-up where necessary.

Is a man-down alarm the right solution for me?

Is a man-down alarm the right solution for me?

A man-down alarm can provide a solution in many situations. For example, consider employees who regularly work alone. Employees who work alone are at (greater) risk of an industrial accident. In an emergency, there are no colleagues nearby who can help. They must therefore be able to raise the alarm and an automatic alarm must be sent if the employee is no longer able to do so himself. (man down). In many sectors, employees regularly work alone. Consider, for example: laboratory technicians who work alone in a laboratory with hazardous substances; healthcare workers who work in institutions or on an outpatient basis; in the event of breakdowns and maintenance where employees are on picket or breakdown shifts; in industry where shift work is practiced; guards or security guards; cleaners and window cleaners; bailiffs; shopkeepers; overtime; homework.

What is BHV?

BHV stands for company emergency response. The Working Conditions Act in the Netherlands has decided that a company must be prepared for an emergency such as fire, first aid and evacuation of a building. Every employer is therefore legally obliged to have company emergency responders. The number of emergency response personnel is not legally established, but the employer must ensure that there are always sufficient emergency response personnel on the work floor. The employer always remains ultimately responsible for company emergency response and can be held liable in the event of incidents.
